ECU Medical School and Pitt County Hospital

The ECU Medical School admitted its first four-year class in 1977. Enrollment at ECU topped the 18,000 mark in 2000, and now exceeds 24,000 students. Pitt County Memorial Hospital is a 761-bed facility that serves as a teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at ECU.

Greenville Museum of Art attracts the citizens of Greenville and Pitt County, as well as visitors from across the state. Gallery talks and openings, tours, art classes and its numerous outreach programs generate a continued interest in the Museum. Over 12,000 people visit the Museum annually.

The Tar River and the Pamlico River, the upstream and estuarine portions of a single river system, are the heart of boating and fishing in Greenville.

River Park North offers five ponds, fishing, wildlife observation, pedal boating, group camping, nature trails and picnic shelters with grills.
